Turn Your Windows 7 PC Into a Wireless Hotspot for Free

There are some free and paid softwares with wich you can turn your windows 7 pc into a wirelss hotspot, but are not so good or they didn’t satisfied my needs.

With 2 lines of code you can make from your windows 7 pc a wi-fi hotspot for free. This is usefull if you have tablets or phones and you want to share the internet connection at home or at the office and you don’t have a wireless router.

Run cmd  and type 2 commands

netsh wlan set hostednetwork mode=allow ssid=MyFreeWirelessHotspot key=mypassword
netsh wlan start hostednetwork

Only the first time you have to share your internet LAN connection to your new wireless connection as picture below

and that’s it! Your free windows 7 wi-fi hotspot. No software required.

P.S.: You can start your wireless free hotspot on windows 7 with just one line of code

netsh wlan start hostednetwork mode=allow ssid=MyFreeWirelessHotspot key=mypassword

Like Joel, when I ran the 2nd cmd line I got the same error message “The group or resource is not in the correct state to perform the requested operation”

I hope the 1st line didn’t screw anything up!
